Hurghada has many dives sites that promise an abundance of reef marine life, a great diversity of corals, and the possibility of pelagic sightings in the blue.
The attractive purpose-built resort of El Gouna is situated about 30 minutes drive north of Hurghada and offers a more exclusive atmosphere than its larger neighbor. Many of the dive sites here are shared with Hurghada, but
El Gouna offers easier day boat access to the best of the northern Red Sea sites, including those at the siyul Islands and Shaab Abu Nuhas.
The industrial port of Safaga lies around one hour’s drive south of Hurghada. The town is largely undeveloped, although it is well known as the main terminal for ferries to Saudi Arabia, which means that thousands of pilgrims descend on its shores as they make their way to and from Mecca during the Haj. Safaga also offers the controversial wreck of the ( Salem Express ), an Egyptian passenger ferry that sank in 1991.
House reefs lie right off the beach here, so shore diving is comfortable and perfect for every level. Operators offer boat trips to those sites not accessible from the shore.
Boats are comfortable purpose-built large dive boats, but there are some speedboat options available too. Some shore dives require a minibus transfer to sites further afield. There’s a myriad of excellent dive sites spread along the coast and with only a handful of dive centers, so you are most likely to find quiet dive sites.
Wreck divers will be pleased to explore the Salem Express. Elphinstone, a thrilling open ocean pinnacle, is there for the intrepid too.
Diving in Marsa Alam has long been a secret. That means the coral reefs, unlike other dive sites, are intact. Normally, diving in Marsa Alam is done on land dives. This has the advantage of making your dives either in the morning or in the afternoon or both. However, there are more than 20 different dive sites in Marsa Alam.
Hamata is located in the south of Egypt, more precisely around 170Km away from Marsa Alam.
Diving here means that the dive sites are not crowded, most dives were the only ones there, and this is definitely a plus when it comes to Egypt.
Sharm El Sheikh is well known for its wonderful dive sites, rich in Different coral types and many fish species, amazing Flora and Fauna, with water temperature ranging between 20°C in February 27°C from July to October, and outstanding visibility ranging between 20-30 meters!!!
Divers from all over the globe come to explore Dahab’s famous dive sites such as the Canyon and the famous Blue Hole.
There are approximately 25 dive sites around Dahab. Reached either from the diving center or by jeeps!! Sites suit all levels of divers, from beginners to advanced/technical.
And at any time you can decide to go for a diving safari by Camels or By Boat either to north or south of Dahab to (Ras Abu Galoum national park or Gabr El Bint area) which reached only by camels or by boat.
